The West London recording studio facility joins forces with Academy Of Contemporary Music to launch the talent showcase Metropolis Rising

urope’s largest independent recording facility, Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, London has announced the launch of Metropolis Rising – a showcase search for the next great UK act, be they a solo artist or band. The bi-monthly event will be a live show performed to an invited industry panel and prizes up for grabs will include signing to the Metropolis label, sync opportunities through the company’s publishing arm, and a bursary to attend the Metropolis campus of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) for songwriters and producers.

ACM runs Metropolis’ academy, ACM@Metropolis, which offers IQ (Industry Qualifications) courses in the form of a Contemporary Songwriting & Artist Development and Music Production IQs. These programmes provide musicians with real-world experience and music education in a professional studio environment. Students on these courses have access to the studios during downtime and the chance to perform regularly in front of industry panels. Metropolis also regularly holds masterclasses giving attendees insights into the workings of the music industry. Recent guests have included artists such as George Clinton, Soul II Soul, Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix’ producer) and Roni Size.

Metropolis has a long history of helping British artists achieve greatness. The hit albums of breakout artists such as Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black and Adele’s 21 were mastered and recorded at the studio and the team has recently worked with acts such as Ed Sheeran (an ACM alumnus), Sam Smith and FKA Twigs, all artists who have gone on to achieve international fame and success at both Brit and Grammy Award ceremonies.

ACM@Metropolis invites aspiring songwriters and producers to attend its Open Day on 23 August. For further details, visit: and for more information on Metropolis and updates on its support of unsigned artists, see:
