With Royalty Exchange’s help, we reveal the top 20 songwriters behind the biggest hits on this week’s Official Singles Chart

Welcome to the first of our weekly chart – brought to you by Royalty Exchange – which recognises the most successful songwriters of the biggest hits on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. As with the US equivalent based on the Billboard Hot 100, every track appearing on the Official Singles Chart for the week is given a point value, which is then split equally among the songwriters listed for each, and then ranked in order of those totals.
