V.O. is Piroshka’s tribute to Vaughan Oliver, the 4AD in-house art director who died in 2019. With lyrics directly inspired by his funeral, including snippets taken from speeches, there’s both poignancy and paean running through the song.

Favourite What If is the latest single from rising Baltimore artist Ashley Kutcher. A dreamy and sepia-tinted pop song which captures the nostalgic feeling of a once-close relationship fallen by the wayside, it’s a subtly powerful listen.

IOWA BY SLOW PULP
Hazy acoustics and an entrancing beat make ideal bedfellows on Iowa, the new song from Chicago-based band Slow Pulp. Like the best watercolour painting, there’s a lightness of touch that helps you get lost in its gentle palette.
