Tonight’s exclusive is from the excellent Rich Stephenson

Tonight’s exclusive’s from a songwriter who’s putting in the long hours to make it and is already reaping the rewards

You don’t get anywhere in life without hard graft and tonight’s autumnal folk songwriter Rich Stephenson is no exception. The evidence for this is in a summer performance schedule that includes sets at Glastonbury, Boardmasters, Humber Street Sesh and Beverley Folk Festivals.

In addition to that, Stephenson was interviewed by BBC Radio London and BBC Introducing and saw his single Better Things To Do playlisted by Amazing Radio’s Baylen Leonard for three consecutive weeks.

Alibi is Stephenson’s new single and of the song he says: “Alibi is about the bittersweet nature of relationships and friendships – you fall out, you make up, you share high points, you live through low points, but a tight bond remains throughout.”

He’s been compared to The Lumineers, Ray LaMontagne and Paolo Nutini among others. In addition to that we going to throw in our own comparisons, those being James Morrison and George Ezra. Listen below, though, to see what you think…
