Morgan Mallory’s debut album ‘Manifesto’ is out very soon

This week, we bring you some heartfelt pure pop coming all the way from the west coast of the USA

This week’s Monday exclusive is a mainstream pop offering from Californian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Morgan Mallory. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Mallory is currently based in Orange County, California and has been writing his own songs since he was 11 years old, citing influences as diverese as Michael Jackson, Lianna La Havas and Yes.

Would It Be Different is taken from his crowd-funded debut album Manifesto. He says of the song: “Would It Be Different came from conversations with a friend who was being torn apart by her on-off relationship with this guy who kept making some really foolish mistakes. It was heartbreaking to see her go through this horrendous cycle of getting hurt, changing herself to appease him, and getting nothing in return. I think we’ve all been in her position at some point.

“We’ve all felt concerned about whether our partner values us as much as we value them,” he continues. “Perhaps even been blinded to the possibility that we’re better off without them. Even though we know something has to change, we hope one day they’ll wake up and see how careless they’ve been.”

This one has Top 40 radio written all over it and to our ears is likely to appeal to fans of artists like Gary Barlow or Will Young, but you can make your own mind up…
