This week’s Winter NAMM 2017 gives the colourful guitar brand the opportunity to unveil Rocker 15 and 32 combo amplifiers
Orange Amplification used the brand’s presence at this week’s Winter NAMM 2017 show in Anaheim, California to show off its latest combo amps, the Rocker 15 and 32. Engineered with an emphasis on tone and portability, both amplifiers feature Orange’s new 10-inch ‘Voice Of The World’ Gold Label speakers and the same transformers found in the Terror series.
The Rocker 32 is a portable, all-valve stereo combo with two 10-inch speakers. At its heart is a valve-driven stereo effects loop, which opens up possibilities for pedal board users. It can be used as a ‘normal’ mono amp or be configured for Wet/Dry, or true stereo for panning effects.
The 32 offers 30 Watts – 15 on each side – but also features a half-power mode to suit smaller venues. Switching between 0.5, 1, 7 or 15 Watts of output, the Rocker 15 is a compact single 10-inch combo, with a valve-driven effects loop.
Both amps feature an all-valve signal path plus a twin channel layout with an intuitive Natural channel. This channel features just a single control – Volume – and is perfectly voiced to bring out the natural character of different guitars and effects. The second, Dirty channel has a more familiar look, with a three band EQ.
