White’s label, Third Man Records, have shared images of the songwriter recording his upcoming third solo album in New York
Three years ago Jack White released his second solo album, Lazaretto. It’s follow-up has been a long time coming and fans will hope their wait will soon be at an end, after White’s label, Third Man Records, shared two images of him recording album No. 3.
Shared via Third Man Records’ official Twitter account, the two images feature White and a collection of musicians above the caption: “jack white recording songs for his third solo album in new york city july 27th.”
This March White revealed details about the writing process behind his, as yet, untitled third solo album. Speaking to The New Yorker, White said: “I’m going to try to write songs where I can’t be heard by the next-door neighbor. And I want to write like Michael Jackson would write — instead of writing parts on the instruments or humming melodies, you think of them. To do everything in my head and to do it in silence and use only one room.”
