Montage Of Heck will feature a 12 minute Kurt Cobain original track

A never before released Kurt Cobain song will feature on the soundtrack of the upcoming film of the Nirvana frontman

irvana fans pay attention, because not only will the upcoming film Kurt Cobain: Montage Of Heck feature unseen footage of the grunge icon, it will also have an unreleased song by Cobain included on its soundtrack. The news was revealed on Twitter by the film’s director Brett Morgen, who said, “Listening to a mind blowing 12-minute acoustic Cobain unheard track that will be heard on the montage of heck soundtrack.”

If that wasn’t enough, Morgen had already confirmed to Rolling Stone that the soundtrack will be comprised exclusively of unreleased tracks by Cobain, with the director saying that the soundtrack “is all unreleased Cobain music.”

Though Montage Of Heck received its premiere at this January’s Sundance Film Festival, it will not be hitting UK cinemas until this spring. The film receives its US television premiere on May 4, with a screening at SXSW in Austin, Texas coming this month.

In a press release for the film, HBO said that it is a ‘no-holds barred’ account of the Nirvana songwriter, saying “the film provides no-holds-barred access to Cobain’s archives, home to his never-before-seen home movies, recordings, artwork, photography, journals, demos, personal archives and songbooks.”
