The Week In Review (8 – 14 May)
We round-up the last week in music, including news you might’ve missed, our SongsOfTheWeek playlist and Classic Of The Week
We’re back folks and I bet you can’t wait to hear what we’ve been up to. While you were all watching the Eurovision Song Contest this Saturday just gone (13 May), we were, well, watching it too. We’ll admit that we take just as much pleasure as you do in seeing who will take home the crown, and this year Portugal’s Salvador Sobral was a very worthy recipient.
But, you already knew that. So here is our weekly round-up of the last seven days in music. Enjoy.
Classic Of The Week
‘Tonight, Tonight’ by The Smashing Pumpkins (1995)
Not the first track to be released from The Smashing Pumpkins’ insanely successful third album, Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness – with that honour going to Bullet With Butterfly Wings – and it might not even be the best song on that magnificent record. However, for us, it is the song that most immediately invokes the joy we had that first time we heard Mellon Collie…, and that is utterly priceless.
