We round-up the last week in music, including news you might’ve missed, our #SongOfTheDay playlist and Classic Of The Week

Back, already? As the world continues with its mission to press relentlessly on, irrespective of events that might conspire to lead to it’s destruction, we’re glad that our Sunday catch-ups with you, our beloved readers, remains one of lifes anchors. So, what have we been up to?

Well, firstly we must offer our congratulations to Ed Sheeran, who broke every known record in human history this week. Aside from that, we were once again enthralled by the latest episode of the top-notch Archie Comics TV show, Riverdale. Who do you think did it folks?

Finally, we couldn’t forget the tale of two deficits in this week’s Champions League football matches. First, there was the predictable collapse by Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal, as they satisfied their fans requirement for their annual last 16 exit. Secondly, there was the miracle of 8 March, as Barcelona produced a modern classic to come-back from a four-goal first leg deficit. See Arsene, it can happen.

News this week

• A new career-spanning Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ‘best of’ entitled Lovely Creatures is to be released on 5 May. Four versions will available: 2xCD, 3xLP, 3xCD +DVD and 3xCD+DVD+hardback book.
• Steven, the forthcoming Morrissey biopic being produced by Orian Williams (Control), has now been renamed England Is Mine. The film will concentrate on a young Steven Patrick’s life prior to meeting Johnny Marr and forming The Smiths..
• 80s/90s indie-rock faves The Senseless Things have reformed, and released a new single called Lost Honey. It’s not like they’ve not kept their hand in: since splitting in 1995 the various members have worked with the likes of Muse, Gorillaz, The Streets, 3 Colours Red and The Libertines.
• Eleven original Gerald Scarfe paintings used in Pink Floyd’s animated film The Wall are to be auctioned off – but not until they’ve formed the centerpiece of a Pink Floyd exhibition at the San Francisco Art Exchange in July.
• US folk-rockers Fleet Foxes will release their first album in six years on 16 June. Crack-Up is their third long player and will be supported by a 19-date, summer-long tour of Australia, Europe and North America
