Singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach has announced that he will be releasing a long-awaited new solo album in Spring 2017

Next year will mark eight years since Dan Auerbach’s debut solo effort Keep It Hid was released. In the meantime, he has been busy producing artists such as Lana Del Ray. This time he is back in the studio working on his second solo album, with the help of Western music’s elite.

Auerbach’s co-written songs with country musicians John Prine and David “Fergie” Ferguson, both whom are big names in the genre, with the latter having worked as a sound engineer for Johnny Cash. The album also features the likes of Cash’s bassist Dave Roe, drummer Gene Christman and pianist Bobby Wood, who have both played with Elvis Presley.

It is no secret that Auerbach refers to Nashville as his adopted home, it is where his studio Easy Eye Sound is based and where the album was recorded. About the album, he said: “[It] is a whole history of everything I love about music.”

Adding: “We had 60 songs to work on for the record.”

The album, yet to be titled, is set to be released in Spring next year.
