Fans of the legendary rock quintet will today rejoice, after the band announced their first global tour in four years

It’s been a long time coming and there will be tremendous excitement among their fan-base today, after Radiohead confirmed that this year will see the band embark on their first global tour in nearly half a decade.

Starting with a pair of performances at Amsterdam’s Heineken Music Hall on 20 and 21 May, Radiohead then play twice at Paris’ Le Zenith on 23 and 24 May, before three shows at London’s Roundhouse on 26, 27 and 28 May. Their US dates come in July and August, with two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden on 26 and 27 July , before making the trip to Los Angeles to play at the Shrine Auditorium on 4 and 8 August. They finish in Mexico City, playing at the Palacio De Los Deportes on 3 and 4 October.

Radiohead are currently recording their ninth studio album, the follow-up to 2011’s The King Of Limbs. Earlier this week they offered fans a teaser, by updating their Facebook page with a new profile picture that recalls the work of their long-time collaborator Stanley Donwood.
