Pro7ect is back for 2024, providing songwriters with the chance to work with professional producers at the iconic Rockfield Studios
Pro7ect’s annual residential songwriting retreat in Wales’ stunning Wye Valley is always a highlight of the calendar year. Returning again in 2024, this event promises an unparalleled experience for songwriters, musicians, and music creators alike. Dedicated to fostering creativity and collaboration in the music industry, Pro7ect brings people together from around the world to immerse themselves in the rich history and inspiring atmosphere of Rockfield Studios, where legendary artists such as Queen, Oasis, and Coldplay have recorded iconic albums.
Led by internationally recognised headline producers, this year’s retreat runs from 16-20 July. The daily sessions offer expert guidance and creative support, all geared towards creating songs that are primed for release. With a focus on professional production and collaborative songwriting, the retreat provides a unique opportunity for artists to hone their craft and build lasting connections within the industry.
Here’s a glimpse of what happens on each day of the retreat:
Day 1 (16 July 2024):
Check-in by 5pm.
Ice-breakers, orientations, and team introductions.
Listening session to ignite creativity.
Tour of Rockfield Studios.
Acquaintance with writing spaces and collaborators.
Evening meal and hang in the famous Quadrangle Studio.
Days 2, 3, and 4 (17-19 July 2024):
Intensive songwriting sessions led by headline producers.
Creativity in full swing, writing for fellow artists or from Pro7ect’s tip sheets.
Lunch to keep energy high.
Evenings of music and shared meals.
Goal: produce three songs in three days.
Day 5 (20 July 2024):
Check-out by 11am.
Farewell to Rockfield Studios.
Departure with three professionally written and mixed songs.
This year’s headline producers bring a wealth of experience and industry success. They are Julian Victor Hinton (Stormzy, Seal, Rod Stewart, Robbie Williams, Trevor Horn), Sophie Ackroyd (Kings Elliot, lleo, RØRY, Kate Wild, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Nina Nesbitt), Gethin Pearson (Badly Drawn Boy, Charlie XCX), Stew Jackson (Massive Attack & Phantom Limb), Jon Fletcher (The PFQ, Magpie Lane) and Lisa Fitzgibbon (The PFQ, The Standing, Moonshee).
Pro7ect’s retreat at Rockfield Studios offers an unforgettable experience that will inspire and empower songwriters to take their music to the next level and return home with both usable material and invaluable industry contacts.
For £1,695, the cost of the residential songwriting retreat includes four nights’ accommodation (twin share), three writing days, all meals, studios, and equipment.
