The Guinness Book Of Records listed songwriter will release the tenth studio album of her much decorated career next year

It may be less than 30 seconds long, but a new video released by PJ Harvey is enough to get fans excited about the follow-up to her record making ninth studio album, which will be out in the spring of 2016.

In the teaser Harvey plays a dissonant, near industrial, chord which is accompanied by a video that intersperses her performing in the studio with desolate imagery of crumbling buildings and snow spotted mountains, as she sings: “This is the ministry of defence, stairs and walls are all that’s left.”

Harvey recorded the as-yet untitled album at Somerset House in London earlier this year and opened the recording sessions up to the public. She then performed a series of new songs at a multimedia show in London this October alongside poems, photos and short films from Seamus Murphy, who directed the above video.

Harvey’s tenth studio album will be her first since 2011’s Let England Shake, which saw her enter The Guinness Book Of Records as the first artist to win the Mercury Music Prize twice.
