Radiohead are working on the follow-up to 2011’s ‘The King Of Limbs’

Radiohead drummer Philip Selway has said that work on the band’s long awaited ninth studio album is ‘coming along nicely’

t’s been four years since Radiohead released their last album The King Of Limbs, and the band’s drummer Philip Selway has stated that work on the follow-up is “coming along nicely”. Speaking to Drowned In Sound, Selway said “It’s all coming along nicely… we worked throughout the autumn up to just before Christmas, and now we’re just taking some time away for other projects.”

Selway went on to say: “We’ll get back to it in March and we’ll make an assessment of where we are then, but we’ve been excited about what we’ve been doing so far. It’s by no means finished yet, so we’ve got a way to go. It’s been a productive time, though.”

However Selway wouldn’t commit to a release date for the new album, advising, “I wouldn’t want to start to predict that kind of thing in a Radiohead schedule because you can find yourself six months down the line saying “I wish I hadn’t said that actually!”

Selway is currently touring his solo album Weatherhouse. Having started yesterday (February 3) in Amsterdam and playing in Berlin tonight (February 4), the tour covers in Europe, Asia and North America. The dates are as follows:
