Must-hear albums of April 2018
Easter marks the end of the first quarter of 2018, but can April do better music-wise? Of course, it can
So far, 2018 has been generous to music fans. In January, Swedish folk duo First Aid Kit achieved their highest UK chart position with their album Ruins peaking at No 3, while Craig David showed the world he can still write a decent song or two.
February saw British singer Rae Morris release the follow up to her 2015 debut album Unguarded to critical acclaim, receiving a host of four-star reviews. Unfortunately, the album, Someone Out There, only just scraped into the Top 20 at its peak; unable to break into the Top 10 like its predecessor.
Moby, The Decemberists, The Vaccines, George Ezra, Clean Bandit, and Wiley all stand out from 2018’s releases so far. Even actor David Duchovny got in on the act with his album Every Third Thought.
Welsh rockers Manic Street Preachers release their 13th studio album, Resistance Is Futile. But all eyes will be on the return of Plan B and his first album in six years: Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose is due out on 13 April. Kylie Minogue, Eels, British pop singer Anne-Marie, Janelle Monáe, and We Are Scientists complete the highlights of April 2018.
