Fan page reveals details of the US indie faves’ new album ‘Stranger To Ourselves’ as a trailer single emerges online
merican indie outfit Modest Mouse will release their next album Strangers To Ourselves on 3 March 2015, fan site Interstate-8 has reported. It will be the band’s first full length album since 2007.
Interstate-8 reports that Modest Mouse’s management contacted several members of the online community requesting their postal information. One member then received a package containing a test pressing of new single Lampshades On Fire, with a note asserting it was the first single from their album Strangers To Ourselves. The note also said the single was to be released on Tuesday 16 December, but it has surfaced online today.
Strangers To Ourselves is rumoured to feature Outkast’s Big Boi and Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic. The band are of course no strangers to big-name collaborations, having boasted Smiths legend Johnny Marr as a band member for a couple of years in the mid-00s.
The new single is streaming on The Current.
