July will see the release of the latest Frank Ocean record

Frank Ocean is to follow up his 2012 major label debut ‘Channel Orange’ by releasing a new album this July

&B star Frank Ocean is to release the follow-up to his universally acclaimed major label debut Channel Orange this summer. The news was revealed on Ocean’s Tumblr page, with the noted songwriter posting an image of himself in front of a stack of magazines and records – the title of which was Boys Don’t Cry, leading to speculation that this would be the name of his new album – and captioning with the hashtags ‘#ISSUE1 #ALBUM3 #JULY2015 #BOYSDONTCRY.’ Ocean also posted “I got two versions. I got twoooo versions.” Billboard later confirmed that July will see the release of the latest Frank Ocean record, as well as a new Ocean penned magazine.

It has been claimed previously that Ocean would enlist the services of the producers Hit-Boy, Danger Mouse and Rodney Jerkins to help him record his latest album, while Kevin Ristro, Charlie Gambetta and Happy Perez are among the artists rumoured to be working with Ocean. The follow-up to Channel Orange is already later than expected, with Ocean suggesting in October 2013 Ocean that the album would see a summer 2014 release.
