Ellie Goulding: on tour in spring 2016

The ‘Lights’ and ‘Halycon’ singer-songwriter will play 10 arena dates in March 2016, in support of forthcoming third long-player ‘Delirium’

Ellie Goulding’s third album Delirium is due to be released in November, and it’s now been announced that the Herefordshire-born singer-songwriter will undertake a 10-date tour of UK arenas next March to promote it.

Goulding’s tour kicks off at Cardiff Arena on 8 March. She will then move on to play Liverpool Echo Arena (10 March), Sheffield Arena (12 March), Nottingham Capitol (13 March), Leeds First Direct Arena (16 March), Glasgow Hydro (18 March), Manchester Arena (19 March) and Birmingham Barclaycard Arena (21 March), before ending up at London 02 Arena on 24 March. Tickets for all shows go on pre-sale tomorrow.

Goulding has described the sound of Delirium as being more overtly commercial than her previous two long-players. She’s worked on the album with the likes of Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Swedish songwriter Klas Ahlund, and has called it “an experiment – to make a big pop album”. Not that she’s exactly struggled to achieve commercial success thus far – both her first two albums topped the UK chart, with Halcyon repeating the trick in Ireland and both albums reaching the Top 30 in the US (reaching Nos 21 and 9, respectively).
