‘Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors’, a “family-oriented, faith-based story”, will air on the NBC network at 9-11pm on 10 December

oming to US TV screens on 10 December is Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors, a new film for which Parton herself has been of the executive producers, along with TV mogul Sam Haskell and Pamela K Long, who wrote the screenplay for the movie.

According to an official statement, Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors “is neither a biopic nor musical about Dolly’s whole life and performing career, but rather a family-oriented faith-based story about the incidents in her and her family’s life around the time she was nine years old.” It is set in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennesse in the mid 50s, and stars country artist Jennifer Nettles as Parton’s mother, Ricky Schroder as her father and Gerald McRaney as Grandpa Jake. Alyvia Alyn Lind will play the nine-year-old Dolly.

Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors will be shown across the NBC network from 9-11pm (ET-PT).
