Villagers’ songwriter Conor O’Brien is nominated in the best album category and had this to say about the Ivor Novello Awards: “Music awards are funny things – but these ones seem to be actually controlled by writers and the writing community. Which feels good because writing can be a strange, solitary existence. So it can be nice to peek your head above the parapet and say ‘hello.'”

Among the winners at the 2015 Ivor Novello Award ceremony were Albert Hammond, James Napier and Jack Patterson, Annie Lennox, James Dean Bradfield, Sean Moore and Nicky Wire, Jack Steadman and Ed Sheeran.
