he nominations for the 2015 Grammys have been announced, with Sam Smith and Beyoncé both up for multiple awards. Smith, who won the BBC Sound of 2014 this January, is in the running for six awards – Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance. Beyoncé matched Smith’s six, with nominations for Album Of The Year, Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Surround Sound Album and Best Music Film, taking her to 53 Grammy nominations throughout the duration of her career.
Elsewhere there are nominations for the country songwriter Taylor Swift (Song Of The Year, Record Of The Year, Best Pop Solo Performance), thrash metal legends Metallica (Best Music Film) and Miley Cyrus, whose nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album was her first ever Grammy nomination.
The 2015 Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on 8 February 2015 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and will be the Grammy’s 57th run-out. You can see the full list of Grammy nominations on the Grammy’s official website.
