Starting with the familiar Another Love, which was one of the standout tracks on the record that brought Odell to the attention of music fans outside of Brighton, the outstanding Songs From Another Love. Familiar it may be but this has done nothing to dim its excellence, with that beautiful piano line and bruised vocals still enough to knock you to the floor; you believe him when he sings ‘all my tears have been used up on another love’.

See If I Care adds a little bombast to Odell’s repertoire. Its use of electric guitar and closing vocal howls suggesting it may have been written with the purpose of lifting the crowd for Odell’s upcoming Glastonbury appearance to the heavens. Elizabeth is a piano ballad that hits the heights that Odell’s listeners have already becoming accustomed to hearing this supremely gifted songwriter reaching, and Hold Me – recorded live at the Burberry Fashion Show and another song which will already be known to Odell’s fans – shows that Odell’s qualities are not restricted to the recording studio alone.

The Another Love EP finds Odell’s star in the ascendant, rising further still and growing ever brighter than its peers. Those of you fortunate enough to be attending this month’s Glastonbury festival would be well advised to ensure you don’t miss Odell’s performance: to do so may be to miss the opportunity to witness the birth of a megastar.

Verdict: Beautiful, heartbreaking piano balladry
