The boys from Melbourne return with their unique blend of witty narrative and melodic punk-rock energy that never gets old

This is the fourth album from the Aussie rockers, as they enter their seventh year as a band. They have spent that time developing their style, which mixes melodic guitars with heavy interludes, while throwing in some interesting time signatures to keep you on your toes.

The songs are loud and attack without apology. Singer Wil Wagner’s lyrics are full of brash Australian charm, sarcasm and wit that are reminiscent of Frank Turner – minus the Australian bit.

Singles Death To The Lads and Birthdays are perfect examples of how good the band are at constructing songs. Everything fits together and has its place, without being conventional. The fact that the album was mixed by John Agnello might have something to do with this. He has worked with Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and The Hold Steady in the past, so has experience when it comes to unconventional songwriting.

They might not be that well known in the UK, but fans of Canadian band Pup will love these guys, and the band are touring the UK this summer.
