Today’s exclusive track, and our second of the week, comes courtesy of a superb alternative acoustic 5-piece from sunny Hull
They’ve been together less than 18 months, but already Hull based alternative acoustic quintet Pavey Ark have performed on two Glastonbury stages, played at the noted Festival 8 and featured on BBC Introducing. When you hear their debut EP, Leaf By Leaf, brought to you today exclusively by Songwriting, you’ll understand why.
The band had this to say on the EP’s lead single, Hidden Hills: “We are just a brief flicker in comparison to everything around us. It was all here long before we arrived and will be around long after we’re gone. It’s about meeting the person you love, a chance encounter within that huge expanse of time – and how special that is.”
They’ve been likened to The National and Fleet Foxes. We’re also throwing Okkervil River and M. Ward into the mix. Why? Because we can. Now it’s up to you to listen below and make your mind up on the accuracy of those comparisons…
