Classic Gary Numan albums re-released

Beggars Arkive will release two special collections of rarities to mark the 40th anniversary of ‘Replicas’ and ‘The Pleasure Principle’

The career of Gary Numan [the cover star of our Autumn 2017 issue] has spanned over 40 years and he has released 20 solo studio albums. In 1979, the electro pioneer recorded and released two albums, one with his band Tubeway Army and what would become his first No 1 album, The Pleasure Principle. Replicas was Tubeway Army’s second and final album, predating Numan’s debut solo effort by six months.

Although both records remain in print, these special releases from Beggars Arkive feature early versions of the recordings, giving some insight into how the music evolved into hits like Cars and Metal. Both albums will be available in October on double CD and vinyl, with Replicas featuring on sage vinyl and The Pleasure Principle available on orange.
