The Wonder Stuff: “We are all so very much looking forward to sharing the bill with such an amazing cast of bands.”

The Manchester all-dayer is back for a third year running, featuring The Wonder Stuff, Jesus Jones, BMX Bandits and more

The Manchester Academy is to host the third Gigantic Indie all-day festival, featuring a new line up of classic indie bands and DJs. Taking place on the Summer Bank Holiday Saturday 28 May 2016, the event will feature a line up of 15 indie bands across three stages, a real ale and cider tent and an indie cinema.

The confirmed line-up so far consists of The Wonder Stuff headlining the Manchester Academy’s main stage, following The House of Love, The Darling Buds, CUD, The Frank And Walters and S*M*A*S*H. On the Academy 2 stage, Jesus Jones will headline after Bentley Rhythm Ace, Back To The Planet and Credit To The Nation. The Club Academy hosts the festival’s third stage, with BMX Bandits topping the bill joined by The Telescopes, Bivouac and Jack Adapter.

Speaking about the headline slot, The Wonder Stuff’s exuberant frontman Miles Hunt said, “We are all so very much looking forward to sharing the bill with such an amazing cast of bands. Speaking entirely for myself, I’d pay top dollar to see any one of the bands on this bill. Bring it on, it’s gonna be a killer event!”

80s indie heroes The House Of Love commented, “We’re all excited to play at the Gigantic Indie All Dayer Vol. 3 in Manchester. It is always a pleasure coming to this fantastic city where the fans are second to none. Looking forward to some Mancunian banter!”

Doors open at 1.30pm and all ages welcome, but under 14s must be accompanied by an adult aged over 18. Advance tickets are priced at £29, currently on sale from the usual online ticket retailers and the Manchester Academy website: manchesteracademy.net
