Pathway To Paris

The 4 December concert will be the second staged under the Pathway To Paris banner

Along with RHCP’s Flea, pair will play a 4 December concert in Paris to coincide with UN climate change summit

hom Yorke from Radiohead, punk founding mother and all-round living legend Patti Smith, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers and Dhani ‘Son of George’ Harrison are among the artists who will play a special concert called Pathway To Paris on 4 December. Taking place at the city’s Le Trianon theatre, the gig coincides with the UN Climate Change Conference, which is being held in Paris from 30 November to 11 December.

A previous Pathway To Paris show was staged in New York last September, with Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith’s guitarist) also featuring. The whole project is the brainchild of Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon, both musicians and climate change campaigners, and the Paris gig will feature a number of speakers including Bill McKibben – founder of the climate change organisation, to which all proceeds are being donated – and Naomi Klein.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale in September.
