VOX launches AV Series amps
A new category of analog modelling amplifiers with eight all-analog pre-amp circuits, the AV15, AV30 and AV60 are now available
Guitar amplification company, VOX has announced the availability of the Analog Valve (AV) Series – a new category of analog modelling amplifiers with eight all-analog pre-amp circuits. With 12AX7 driven preamp and power amp sections, the AV15, AV30 and AV60 create eight types of tube sound ranging from clean to crunchy chime and modern high-gain.
The Valve Stage section modifies the circuit to add, or reduce, brightness and bass response, and also allows users to adjust the bias and response of the power section on the fly. Additional features include a sealed cabinet design, three effects – Chorus, Delay and Reverb – and a retro-inspired aesthetic. The baffle and cabinet utilises a one-piece construction, with a front-mounted speaker and bass reflex design.
“The AV Series is perhaps the most revolutionary tube amps in all of VOX’s long history,” said Brian Piccolo, VOX Brand Manager. “With eight different analog preamp circuits, the AV series is able to accurately reproduce the sound of eight classic tube amps. In addition to the coveted AC30 top boost sound, it also covers a wide range of tones from clean to high-gain, including a sound that is reminiscent of the rare AC15 with EF86 tubes.”
The headphone amp features a version of the cabinet simulator used in products such as the amPlug series. The AUX input lets users connect an external audio source and is equipped with a circuit that compensates for the response of the speaker and cabinet. The AV30 and AV60 provide additional expansion potential with send/return jacks, as well as an external speaker output.
The entire AV Series line is available now at the following recommended retail prices – AV15: £238.80, AV30: £322.80 and the AV60: £418.80. To learn more, visit voxamps.com/AVSeries
