UA’s Apollo Twin USB: a desktop 2×6 USB 3.0 audio interface with 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion

Universal Audio announces a new USB desktop interface with real-time UAD processing, built for Windows-based recording systems using USB 3.0

Universal Audio, the manufacturer of pro audio recording hardware and software, announces the new Apollo Twin USB. The 2×6 USB audio interface combines 24-bit/192 kHz audio conversion with onboard real-time UAD-2 DUO processing. Its desktop design features aluminum construction, front panel headphone and instrument connections, which allows Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users to record at near-zero latency through the full range of UAD-powered plug-ins from the likes of Neve, Studer, Manley, Marshall and API.

Apollo Twin USB also features Unison technology, which allows its mic preamps and front-panel DIs to sound and behave like tube and solid state preamps, guitar amps, and stomp boxes; including their impedance, gain stage ‘sweet spots’, and circuit behaviours. Based on integration between Apollo’s digitally controlled analog inputs and its onboard UAD processing, Unison lets Apollo Twin USB owners track through a range of preamp emulations.

Apollo Twin USB comes with Universal Audio’s Realtime Analog Classics UAD plug-in bundle, featuring legacy editions of the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LN Limiting Amplifier, and Pultec EQP-1A Program Equalizer, as well as the 610-B Tube Preamp plug-in, Softube Amp Room Essentials.

Apollo Twin USB will be made available in October at an estimated street price of $899 (approx. £579). For more details visit: uaudio.com/twinusb
