Fleetwood Mac announce European tour
Fleetwood Mac announce a European tour with UK dates – and it seems the rumours about Glastonbury just won’t die down
leetwood Mac have announced a European tour for early summer 2015, including shows in the UK and Ireland. It will follow the band’s current gruelling six-month trek around the USA which ends in March. The European tour then begins in London in May, with the last date in Leeds. The shows will feature original member Christine McVie, who recently rejoined the band after 16 years.
Mick Fleetwood has also recently spoken about the rumours regarding the band playing Glastonbury 2015. Fleetwood said to Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans that: “One of the things I would like to clear up: we’re not playing Glastonbury. And a lot of folks think that we are, so loud and clear: we love Glastonbury and all the surrounding history of such a lovely festival but we’re not playing it.”
Fleetwood’s denial of the rumours comes in the wake of recent comments made by Glastonbury festival founder and organiser Michael Eavis, who said, “Fleetwood Mac don’t seem to be available at the moment.” Nevertheless, the band are still the bookies’ favourites to top the festival as they have no shows between 21 and 29 June – the festival takes place on 24-28 June.
