Enter for a chance to join headline producer Julian Victor Hinton for a one-day masterclass at the iconic Rockfield Studios
Our friends at Pro7ect are returning to the iconic Rockfield Studios in Wales this July for their annual Masterclass, and one of you lucky people has the chance to join them. Hosted by P7’s headline producers Julian Victor Hinton and Lisa Fitz, the Masterclass offers artists of all levels of experience the opportunity to ask questions, learn your craft, gain songwriting and production tips and techniques and have a great day out in a studio, baked in music history.
We were lucky enough to attend last year’s Masterclass, an inspiring and fun day that saw another of P7’s headline producers, Gethin Pearson, share his wealth of songwriting/production knowledge with the group of eager songwriters. By the end of the day, the group had combined their inspirations and influences to come up with the verse, pre-chorus, and chorus for a new song. You can read our full review here, in which we concluded:
“As both an insight into the world of a successful producer/songwriter and a taster of what to expect from Pro7ect’s own Songwriting Retreats, we couldn’t recommend the day any more highly. Time spent somewhere as inspiring as Rockfield Studios was the cherry on top of this creative cake.”
This year’s Pro7ect Masterclass will take place on 20 July at Rockfield’s famous Coach House Studio and costs £225 (with lunch included). Running from 10am-5pm, it is open to anyone with an interest in songwriting, recording and collaboration – no previous songwriting experience is necessary, the Masterclass is ideal for people who are at the start of their songwriting adventure.
As well as the Masterclass, Pro7ect’s Residential Songwriting Retreat will also be held at Rockfield Studios. Running 16-20 July and costing £1695 (including accommodation and meals), internationally recognised headline producers such as Pearson, Sophie Ackroyd and Stew Jackson will lead the daily sessions, offering expert guidance and creative support.
Since 2014, artists attending the residential retreat have written and recorded more than 120 tracks, leading to multiple syncs, releases, and other projects. It really is the UK’s premier songwriting retreat for a reason.
