Linkin Park: a-huntin’ they will go…

‘The Hunting Party’ will feature guest appearances by members of System Of A Down, Helmet and Rage Against The Machine

merican nu-metal band Linkin Park have announced the track list for their sixth studio album The Hunting Party, and confirmed that it will feature contributions from an impressive selection of metal legends – System Of Down’s Darion Malakian, Helmet’s Page Hamilton and Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello – as well as rapper Rakim, who featured on recent trailer single Guilty All The Same.

The album, set to be released on 17 June, is produced by band members Mike Shinoda (rapper and multi-instrumentalist) and Brad Delson (guitar), and is the follow-up to their gold-selling, Billboard No 1 album Living Things, released in 2012. Talking to New Zealand’s 3 News, vocalist Chester Bennington said: “We’ve collaborated with people for the first time, which was inspiring. We produced it ourselves, we really felt like we needed to be inspired and move in another direction.”

Shinoda, meanwhile, told Rolling Stone that the album, “Needed to be visceral. We need to weed out a lot of the soft, emo kind of approach to our music, and we need to weed out anything that feels aggressive for aggressive’s sake. We’re not 18-year-old kids making a loud record – we’re 37-year-old adults making a loud record. And what makes a 37-year-old angry is different than what made us angry back in the day.”

The full tracklist for The Hunting Party is as follows:

Keys To The Kingdom
All For Nothing (feat. Page Hamilton)
Guilty All The Same (feat. Rakim)
The Summoning
Until It’s Gone
(feat. Daron Malakian)
Mark The Graves
(feat. Tom Morello)
Final Masquerade
A Line In The Sand

Linkin Park will be undertaking a 25-date US tour to promote the album in August/September, while fans in the UK can catch them at Download festival on 14 June.
