n news that will be of interest to you folkies out there, the Cambridge Folk Festival 2015 has announced the first batch of performers to be confirmed for this year’s festival. Among the host of noted songwriters to be confirmed are Nick Mulvey, Frank Turner, Joan Armatrading, The Unthanks and Joan Baez. This year’s festival is held from Thursday 30 July 30 until Sunday 2 August, with the Cherry Hinton Hall to be the venue.

This year will be the 50th anniversary of the festival, which has long been noted for both securing internationally renowned artists and for supporting new and talented songwriters. Last year Cambridge Folk Festival was awarded the highest possible environmental honour at the Greener Festival Awards, making it one of only nine festivals to do so worldwide and one of just two in the UK.
