New Iowa-based product developer joins the market with a compact interface, with analog signal path, for musicians on the go

ollowing a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014, new Iowa-based manufacturer GMF Music announces the Ai1 – a studio-quality DI with preamp. Designed to route a clear natural acoustic sound through a balanced XLR output or unbalanced standard line output to the PA sound system, the Ai1 has been road-tested by professional musicians.

The Ai1 is also designed to connect an acoustic instrument into a home theater system or any sound source with stereo RCA compatible inputs, as well as a built-in headphone jack for private practice or playing. An RCA stereo line-in offers an MP3 interface adapter to add music or backing tracks to the mix.

“The Ai1’s innovative design and engineering allows professional and amateur musicians to do more,” explains GMF Music’s founder and CEO, Greg Farres. “Surface mount technology means all these features come in a compact package for musicians on the go.”

Farres has 35 years of domestic and international experience in design and manufacturing of products to support the music industry, but the Ai1 is the first offering from the GMF line of products. Additional products planned for the professional musician include both a dual channel and a tube DI with pre-amp.

The Ai1 features list:

  • 100% analog signal path
  • Active tone controls
  • Gain control
  • Output level
  • Shape switch
  • Phase switch
  • GND (ground) Lift
  • Headphone out
  • Balanced XLR line out
  • Unbalanced line out
  • Stereo line out (RCA)
  • Stereo line in (RCA)
  • Easy-access battery compartment

The GMF Music Ai1 is available now at a suggested retail price of $199 (approx. £129). For more information, visit: www.gmfamps.com
